The Urban EcoBlock board is a group of forward-thinking activists committed to reclaiming our urban areas to create socially responsible, environmentally healthy spaces for people from all walks of life to live. What started as a combined passion from a set of like-minded people has matured into a 501(c)3 organization with support from a variety of civic, academic and commercial organizations.

Formed in St. Louis, Missouri, the Urban EcoBlock board’s initial focus is on a local pilot project. However, the EcoBlock concept is designed to be applicable in any urban area, and we have established relationships with advocates in other cities, including Detroit and Chicago. It is our expectation that this model will be duplicated across the country and abroad, and evolve, mature and grow over time.
